Aspiring rappers anywhere could become a "Chozen" one thanks to FX's promotional "Dope Rhymez" contest.
In support of the series premiere of FX's animated comedy "Chozen," the network is sponsoring the contest in which rappers can submit hip-hop lyrics for the chance to record the track with the help of New York City music studio professionals.
Contestants can enter and receive official contest rules at ThisIsChozen. com, but you must do so by Wednesday, Jan. 15. Fans also can sign up for the Chozen Fan Club to earn free swag at the same web address.
"Chozen" tells the story of its title character, a gay white rapper newly released from prison. The series premieres at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 13 on FX.
"Armed with a new message, Chozen is on a quest for redemption and to claim his rightful position as the world's top rap artist," FX says. "His music and lyrics take aim at the stereotypes of machismo and misogyny that is synonymous with rap music. And his new world view has been shaped by his time in prison."
The voice cast includes Bobby Moynihan, Michael Peña, Hannibal Buress, Nick Swardson, Cliff "Method Man" Smith and Kathryn Hahn.
