Sneak peeks for ABC's Fall 2012-13 scripted TV series
ABC unveiled 10 new series for its Fall 2012-13 schedule, but I'm all about the dramas that include two thrillers and two soaps, one that's a little bit country and one that's a little bit supernatural. Here's a quick look at the new scripted series on ABC's slate, with trailers and my take on how long I'll give each to capture my interest. (I haven't seen any of the pilots.)

Who's in it? Camille De Pazzis as Sophie Gerard (from left), Sahr Ngaujah as Mayor Julian Serrat, Autumn Reeser as Kylie Sinclair, Jessy Schram as Christine Kendal, Scott Speedman as XO Sam Kendal, Andre Braugher as Capt. Marcus Chaplin, Daniel Lissing as SEAL Officer James King, Daisy Betts as Lt. Grace Shepard, Dichen Lachman as Tani Tumrenjack.
What it's about: The captain of U.S. nuclear submarine refuses an order to fire nukes at Pakistan unless he receives confirmation in this thriller from Shawn Ryan ("The Shield," "The Unit," "The Chicago Code"). When the crew of the AWOL sub is declared rogue enemies of the state, fired upon and hit, they flee to an exotic island from where they hope to clear their names. Ryan and Karl Gajdusek serve as executive producers with Martin Campbell and Marney Hochman Nash. How long before I bail? Speedman on weekly TV again? Ryan's always compelling storytelling? I'm diving all in. |
