Society 57, a coffeehouse and event space in downtown Aurora, will hold its first gala, entitled “A Community Canvas,” on Friday.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Society 57, 100 S. River St., the former Pocus Motors building.

The gala will feature live performances, art demonstrations and local cuisine, organizers said.

Society 57 has become a beacon for collaboration and cultural growth, supporting local artists, chefs, entrepreneurs and more than 30 non-profits, according to Society 57 officals.

The space draws thousands for event rentals, such as weddings and corporate events. It also is a daily coffeeshop.

“This event celebrates our journey and supports our mission to enhance Aurora’s cultural scene,” said Scott Hodge, founder of Society 57.
