A Ravenswood outpost of a Logan Square BYOB Chilapan opened on March. This new location of the family-owned Mexican restaurant (1522 W. Montrose Ave. 773-319-6421) features more seating – 74 seats inside and 35 outside – while maintaining the same homey, whimsical vibe of the original eatery.

There’s more room to work in the kitchen, so expect to find all your old favorites on the menu along with a few creative specials. Another new addition for this location is a chef’s table, where diners will be served a multi-course meal that will run about $60-65 for two. (Word is the chef will personally serve each course.)

So why Ravenswood? Owner Olga Vega-Miranda knew the space was perfect for a second outpost when she noticed a few similarities with the original location: Both spots are CTA accessible, both are in up-and-coming neighborhoods and both have great dessert options nearby like Margie’s Candies.

“We wanted to be able to grow with the neighborhood this time at this location as well,” said Vega-Miranda.

Chilapan's hours at this location are Monday-Thursday from 5 p.m.-10 p.m.; Friday from 5 p.m.-11 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
