About Last Night

I don’t watch CBS for anything other than football and Gus Johnson’s shrieks during March Madness, but I could make an exception Tuesday night. That’s when the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs on CBS.
The annual show features performances by Kanye West, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and Maroon 5 and Victoria's Secret lingerie modeled by Angels Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel and Skokie native Erin Heatherton -- or as I like to call them, the hardest people for me to interview.
(Nothing against Victoria’s Secret models. They’ve all been nice, for the most part. But they do press in Chicago nearly every month and I ran out of questions to ask them a while ago. I knew I was in trouble when I asked Miranda Kerr “Have you ever wiped out on the runway?” But I digress.)
In addition to lingerie, the supermodels will be wearing angel wings and six-inch heels during the special, which was taped earlier this month in New York. And as is tradition, one model (Kerr) will have the honor of wearing a diamond-encrusted, multi-million bra (it’s worth $2.5 million this year).
"There is no better way to end the year than the Victoria's Secret Fashion show," Heatherton said in this behind-the-scenes video for Victoria's Secret. "So I'm kind of excited for a really new experience this year because I know it's going to be out of control. I really feel like I earned my wings this year. It's just been better than I could've imagined."
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs in 90 countries and was watched by around 9 million viewers in the U.S. last year, according to Nielsen.

The snozzberries taste like snozzberries: I don’t like most old movies. Older movies tend to move slower and I don't have the patience for them seeing how I have the attention span of an eight-year-old. But one of the exceptions to my rule is 1971’s “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.” I love that movie. Don’t ask me why. If you’re also a huge dork fan, you’ll be happy to know the stars of the film -- Peter Ostrum (Charlie Bucket), Michael Bollner (Augustus Gloop), Denise Nickerson (Violet Beauregarde), Paris Themmen (Mike TeeVee) and Julie Dawn Cole (Veruca Salt) -- will be on hand when the movie is screened at Hollywood Blvd Cinema in Woodridge December 9 and 11 and Hollywood Palms Cinema in Naperville December 10.
