The New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter is normally working around this time every year, but due to his team’s failure to make the playoffs, “The Captain” had time to visit Chicago this week.
Jeter was spotted Wednesday having lunch at Tavern on Rush and dinner at Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse in the Gold Coast. On Thursday, Jeter had a light lunch at Siena Tavern and dinner at Sunda.
The Bears’ Devin Hester celebrated his wife’s birthday Friday at Mastro’s Steakhouse along with teammates Julius Peppers, Earl Bennett and Craig Steltz. Peppers returned Monday and, just like last year’s prank at Mastro’s, had the restaurant hand the rookies a fake dinner bill that was significantly larger than they expected.
Peppers and fellow Bear Alshon Jeffery were spotted Oct. 6 at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, while Bennett opted for Rosebud Prime that day. Teammate Brandon Marshall dined Oct. 7 at Public House.
Marshall Faulk hung out Oct. 9 at Paris Club’s upstairs club, Studio Paris. Fellow NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin was spotted Oct. 10 at the Underground.
The Bulls’ Derrick Rose dined Oct. 8 at Giordano’s — where he is an investor — in the Near North neighborhood. NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman dined Oct. 10 at Chicago Cut Steakhouse.
Speaking of Chicago Cut, the Blackhawks Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa, Duncan Keith, Andrew Shaw, Brandon Bollig and Nick Leddy visited after Saturday’s game. Teammate Corey Crawford hung out Oct. 10 at Bub City.
