RIA, the four-star restaurant inside the Waldorf Astoria (11 E. Walton Place), is closing.
In what the hotel is terming "a repositioning of its food and beverage options," the Waldorf is pulling the plug on RIA, as of July 27. Balsan, the hotel's casual restaurant, will remain open, and the hotel says it will be announcing new dining plans "within the coming months."
This also means that executive chef Danny Grant, under whom RIA earned universal acclaim, including two Michelin stars, and who made Food & Wine's best new chef list this year, will be out of a job. We're guessing his down time will be minimal.Copyright © 2015, RedEye
