An Australian tribute show to the Bee Gees has been booked for July at the Broadway Playhouse, the mid-sized Broadway in Chicago venue located just off Michigan Avenue behind Water Tower Place.
"The Australian Bee Gees Show" is billed as a celebration of the Gibb brothers, and sounds somewhat akin to "Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles," with which it shares a producer. As with the Beatles show, the Bee Gees attraction will feature video and archival footage fused with live performances.
The show currently is playing in Las Vegas at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino, but July tends to be a quiet month in Sin City. Chicago shows will begin July 9 and play through Aug. 4. Tickets ($35-$80) go on sale May 10; visit www.BroadwayInChicago.com.
