“It's like revisiting a career and seeing how much every single thing means to different people,” Todd said Saturday at C2E2 of his interaction with fans. “Everybody comes up with different recollection. It's always nice.”
The first time Todd visited Chicago was to film “Candyman,” which was shot at the Cabrini-Green public housing project before it was torn down. Todd recalls the movie hiring gang members during production.
“For those five days, they had a purpose other than brutality and slinging drugs.”
Todd — who said he loves the city's music scene and hung out Friday with blues legend Buddy Guy — is proud that “Candyman” has stood the test of time.
“To this day, I think Candyman has become somewhat of an urban legend,” Todd said.
