What does the Bears’ Lance Briggs have to do with Chicago injury firm Goldberg Weisman Cairo? More than you think, according to this new G.W.C. commercial featuring Briggs in a generic No. 55 jersey, football in hand.
“In my career as a professional football player, I’ve hurt lot of running backs, crushed a lot of quarterbacks,” Briggs says in the beginning of his new commercial with G.W.C.
Next comes what is known as a segue.
Wait for it.
“At G.W.C.,” says attorney Louis Cairo, “our clients know a thing or two about crushing injuries suffered in car wrecks. So put the G.W.C. team of super lawyers to work on your case.”
Besides the “People’s Court”-like music in the background, you’ll also notice that Goldberg and Weisman are nowhere to be found in this commercial. I like to think they all drew straws and Cairo won the opportunity to appear alongside Briggs.
The real winner, however, is the Briggs4Kidz charity, which will receive $100 from G.W.C. for every solo tackle Briggs makes this season (now THAT is a segue). Briggs, who I should point out is a lot more charismatic than these commercials show, leads the Bears with 26 solo tackles so far this year.
