Monday is Bastille Day, which commemorates the 1789 storming of the Bastille prison, launching the French Revolution. For Chicago's French restaurants, it's a day of celebration and dining deals.
Bistronomic. Saturday through Monday, the Gold Coast bistro will feature steak frites for $17.89, a special bottle of French wine also priced at $17.89 and a three-course Bastille Day menu for $40. 840 N. Wabash Ave., 312-944-8400312-944-8400.
Bistrot Zinc. A costumed Marie Antoinette will pass out free slices of cake Monday, while the restaurant features a three-course, $32.95 menu (regular menu also available). 1131 N. State St., 312-337-1131312-337-1131.
Brindille. You'll have to wait an extra day for this one; the River North restaurant, a sister property to the acclaimed Naha, will feature a special Champagne Bastille Day Dinner on Tuesday. Chez Moi. A special a la carte Bastille menu will be offered Sunday and Monday, including three entrees priced at $17.89, along with cocktail and wine specials. 2100 N. Halsted St., 773-871-2100773-871-2100.
Cyrano's Farm Kitchen. The River North bistro will feature a four-course, $30 Bastille Day menu, along with wine specials and a cabaret show by Claudia Hommel and Patricia Spaeth. 546 N. Wells St., 312-467-0546312-467-0546.
