RuPaul's Drag Race Season 5 cast

Squirrelfriends, the queens for season 5 of "RuPaul's Drag Race" have been announced, and they're all goddesses.

In a video just released by Logo, Ru presides over a veritable pantheon of drop-dead divas including Alaska Thunderf*ck (last season Sharon Needles's boyfriend) and Detox Icunt (one of the stars in the viral video "Chow Down" with "Drag Race" alum Willam Belli).

The show premiers in January. The competition this year, if the trailer is to be trusted, is gonna be ridiculous.

Read my impression of the contestants below, then watch the trailer and judge for yourself. Will this be, as Ru hints, one of the best seasons ever?

Alaska - Sharon Needles' significant other, Alaska looks gorgeous in her promo shot. She's been auditioning for the show for a while (a couple of her hilarious audition videos have been shown in past seasons) so methinks girl is ready to bring it.

Alyssa Edwards - Logo says this queen has some unspecified "scandal" in her past, but she's also scandalously gorgeous. I hope she's more than just a pretty face.

Coco Montrese - Coco's foundation shade is not like butter in the first photo we've seen of her, so fingers crossed her makeup just didn't come across this one time.

Detox - Madame was hilarious in the "Chow Down" video and she's looking pretty damned fantastic in her photo on the Logo site. I've got high hopes for her.

Honey Mahogany - Am I the only one getting Solange Knowles?

Ivy Winters - There are a lot of facial resemblances between Miss Winters and my favorite all-time queen Manila Luzon, so I'm already on board with this lady.

Jade Jolie - She's pretty.

Jinkx Monsoon - Miss Monsoon (though Edina will be the first, last and best Monsoon ever) is really throwing some Grade-A Tammie Brown patented crazy eyes my way in her photo.

Lineysha Sparx - Gaga for the look, but is she just a reboot of the first season winner, Bebe Zahara Benet?

Monica Beverly Hillz - I'm getting a lot of Kenya Michaels in the face. No sequin diapers, please, Miss Beverly Hillz.

Penny Tration - Cute name and the only even remotely big girl in this season's competition.

Roxxxy Andrews - A lot of Alexis Mateo look in this one, which makes sense because both are pageant queens.

Serena ChaCha - Logo tells us she's a recent art-school graduate, and she has some interesting aspects to her look. I get a little bit of Milan in the face.

Vivienne Pinay - Fish.
