Good news for the people who loved the big-screen adaptations of J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter” series: “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” Rowling’s Potter spinoff, will become a movie trilogy, with part one arriving Nov. 18, 2016, according to Variety. No director or actors have been announced, so if you like, feel free to imagine that the films will star Ryan Gosling and Jennifer Lawrence and be directed by Christopher Nolan. Unlikely, but you can always dream.
This is an appropriate time to mention that I feel only two of the eight (!) Potter movies were any good—“Goblet of Fire” being the best, followed by “Half-Blood Prince.” That’s not raining on any parades, just saying there’s plenty potential for the new Rowling-imagined movies to be better than most of the others. See, totally looking on the bright side.
