The Bluths are back May 26.
Netflix has announced the premiere date and an additional episode for the cult comedy "Arrested Development." That brings the number of episodes to 15, all of which will be available at 2:01 a.m. CT May 26 at netflix.com. Let the binging begin! Netflix released the teaser poster with the premiere date on its Facebook page Thursday.
Created by Mitch Hurwitz, the resurrected comedy stars Jason Bateman as theonly sane member of the bizarre Bluth family played by Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Tony Hale, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Alia Shawkat.
Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer of Netflix, said in a statement that Hurwitz was presenting "Arrested Development" in "a brand-new way, crafted for the on-demand generation that has come to discover the show in the years since it last appeared on TV."
"The highly anticipated return of this show is sure to make history all over again," he said.
Hurwitz, ever the funny guy, responded in a statement that Sarandos was "going to be immensely disappointed."
"In truth we are doing something very ambitious that can only be done with Netflix as partners and on their platform," he said. "Finally my simple wish for the show is coming true: that it be broadcast every second around the clock to every television, computer or mobile device in existence."
The show aired on Fox from 2003 to 2006 and won an Emmy for outstanding comedy series, but ratings never reached the heights of its critical acclaim. Ever since it's cancellation, fans have pleaded for its return in one form or another.
How will you watch the fourth season of "Arrested Development?"
