After six seasons, "The Real Housewives of Orange County" needed a facelift--or at least a shot of Botox.
Bravo's longest running "Real Housewives" reality show shook up the cast by adding--spoiler and shocker alert--a brunette, and sending the gals to an exotic location, Costa Rica, to party.
The ladies also did some work on themselves, but not just cosmetic. Cast member Alexis Bellino, for one, got a career makeover.
The Season 7 premiere, which airs at 8 p.m. Tuesday, shows Alexis at her new job as a weekly "live celebrity correspondent" for a TV station in San Diego. Her assignment? Interview self-proclaimed "booty-ologist" Dr. Booty about "National Booty Awareness Month." (Note: A Google search for this holiday came up bare.)
Alexis stumbles a bit through her talking points and has trouble with the live booty demonstration.
So what did she learn through this experience? "There's many different women with many different shapes and sizes" of booties, she told RedEye.
And what did she learn about being a TV journalist? "It's live. When you hiccup, everyone sees the hiccup."
Alexis, 35, also experiences some hiccups in her friendships with the other castmates. Her closest friend, Gretchen Rossi, makes amends with self-proclaimed "hottest housewife" Tamra Barney, which throws the Alexis-Gretchen dynamic in disarray.
The number of breakups and makeups between cast members in the first episode alone is dizzying, and the previews promise a lot of ugliness from the beautiful people. Alexis, a couture designer, is no exception.
"I had a nose job so it's not going to be very pretty for me."
