Chicago invades Austin: City announces Chicago-focused showcase at SXSW 2014

Grab your Malort and your deep longing for warm weather! This March, Chicago is officially messing with Texas.

It was revealed today that Choose Chicago, the official tourism organization for the city, has teamed up with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and the Illinois Office of Tourism to put together the "Chicago Made" music showcase down at the annual music/tech/film conference in Austin, Tx.. The goal, according to a press release, is to "educate SXSW attendees about Chicago natives who have made their mark on their respective industries while living and working in Chicago."

The event will feature all Chicago artists, names ranging from The Hood Internet to headliner Chance the Rapper. The full list is below.

  • Archie Powell & the Exports
  • My Gold Mask
  • Bonzie
  • ShowYouSuck

If you're planning on being down at the festival, it takes place on Tuesday, March 11 at 8pm-2am at Red 7.
