Sept. 11: The Avett Brothers, 'The Carpenter'
While a new folk-rock band appears every week to capitalize on the breakout success of Mumford and Sons, seasoned North Carolina act the Avett Brothers keep rolling on "The Carpenter," the follow-up to 2009's "I And Love And You." The new songs represent a band continuing to focus on craft and honesty, not a trend quickly growing too cutesy by half. -- Matt Pais
