Tonight's top shows: Leon Russell, Daniel Lanois

Leon Russell: The silver-haired pianist remains in serious competition with ZZ Top for the most prodigious facial hair in rock ‘n’ roll. He’s also kept his chops up as a performer, dipping into a songbook that spans “A Song for You” and “Tightrope” through his 2010 collaboration with Elton John, “The Union,” 8 p.m. Monday-Tuesday at City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St., $55, $65, $75; citywinery.com.

Daniel Lanois: The renowned producer (U2, Bob Dylan, Neil Young) is an inventive artist in his own right, with a series of albums blending his love of folk melody with spooky atmospherics, 6:30 p.m. Monday at Pritzker Pavilion, Millennium Park, 201 E. Randolph St., free; millenniumpark.org.
