Its Chicago release date (March 22) is a little more than a month away, but Harmony Korine's upcoming "Spring Breakers" movie has laid some serious groundwork to becoming the greatest film of the year/generation/all-time?
If you haven't heard, the film stars, in ascending order of WTF-ness: Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson as spring breakers who rob a restaurant for the trip, James Franco as a grill-sporting party rapper and Gucci Mane as the big bad villain. And if it couldn't get any more perversely kitschy, Skrillex will score the soundtrack (dropping March 12) with Cliff Martinez. That's right--Skrillex is a COMPOSER now.
Martinez actually rocks a brilliant resume for film soundtracks, including "Drive," "Traffic," and "Contagion," but this will be Skrillex/Sonny Moore's first attempt. Song titles like "Rise and Shine Little B****" and "Bikinis and Big Booties Ya'll," plus original tracks from Gucci and Waka Flocka, give us reason to expect tremendous things, however.
If you haven't watched the trailer yet, do so RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. It's a favor to yourself--just make sure you catch yourself from muttering "Spring break forever..."
