6 aspects of 'Drive'
It wasn't likely that Nicolas Winding Refn's expert thriller would squeeze into the Best Picture field, but it wasn't impossible. Since I think it was the best movie of the year, obviously I'm disappointed that it didn't happen, along with the startling/senseless omission of expected Best Supporting Actor contender Albert Brooks. While we're at it, ditto for the flawlessness of Hossein Amini's adapted script, Refn's direction, Cliff Martinez's score and Ryan Gosling's performance. So much greatness, so little justice.
