2013 summer movie preview
Though the season's often seen as blockbuster central, summer 2013 offers a decent variety of giant spectacles (including the latest "Iron Man," "Star Trek" and the Superman flick "Man of Steel") and smaller fare (including Richard Linklater's "Before Midnight" and the Sundance-winning "Fruitvale Station") worth getting excited about. And while the shenanigans of the "Hangover" guys are a long way from a far tinier effort like Joss Whedon's "Much Ado About Nothing," they can all be judged on the same merits: Their trailers.
With that, first impressions for trailers of the summer's biggest and notably small films, seen objectively even if I've already seen the entire movie. -- Matt Pais, RedEye movie critic
