For the first time ever, Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang we know and love from Charles Schulz's timeless "Peanuts" comic strip will be making their big-screen debut; like they've never been seen before in a CG-Animated Feature film in 3D.

When you tell me that they're making a 3D CGI movie featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the Peanuts gang, of course my spidey-senses are gonna start to tingle. In today's age of strip-mining the past of all its nostalgia for the purpose of making a buck, it's easy to get cynical.

But, then I saw this new trailer for the new PEANUTS CGI film on YouTube and most all of my fears were allayed. No, it wasn't the cute pan-around showing the detail in Charlie Brown's - uh - hairline. Or how fuzzy Snoopy looked as he darted mischieviously around the frame. That just showed me that there was some real skill being put into this feature, and not of the direct-to-DVD quality.

What sold me was the hug at the end. That part just melted my heart and showed me that the folks who have been trusted to look after the legacy of Charles Schulz and his timeless characters were going to do right by them.

Crisis averted. Whew!
