Marvel Studios continues to push the boundaries of movie marketing with it's newest franchise-in-the-making "Guardians of the Galaxy." When you consider that they are trying to make a "tent-pole event" out of a relatively unknown property, it seems like they're taking every chance possible to make it a box-office success.
The film lacks high-profile talent from other superhero movies. Playing Peter Quill, Chris Pratt, of NBC's Parks and Recreation, is perhaps the biggest "name" of the bunch. And when you consider that the flick's other well-known stars Zoe Saldana, who plays Gamora spending all her screen time covered in alien makeup, and Bradley Cooper, who voices the animated, gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, well there you have another gable.
(Yes, that's right, the flick even features a talking, gun-toting raccoon! Quite honestly, that's the part I'm looking forward to most! I just loved Rocket Raccoon as a kid!)
Anyhoo, today Marvel Studios released a new movie poster and also announced that they will be debuting a new movie trailer and will host a live Q&A exclusively on Facebook with the cast of "Guardians of the Galaxy."
With positive "buzz" being such a factor in successful movie marketing, I'm curious to see how this Q&A will pan out. It could be the making of something cool or it could go flying off the tracks like a #AskVentra Twitter event.
That would be funny, at least. Right? Tune in on Monday and find out!
