Alex Ross is considered to be one of the biggest names in comic books. After revolutionizing the look of comic artwork with his photo-realistic technique in the mini-series "MARVELS" for Marvel Comics, he then went on to co-create one of the most stunning works of his career for DC Comics with "Kingdom Come."
A graduate of Chicago's American Academy of Art, Ross is one of the most sought after talents in the industry, and has gone on to work on iconic characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Spider-Man, as well as classic pulp characters like The Phantom and Flash Gordon.
With the AAA preparing to honor Ross as its 2012 Distinguished Alum, he spoke with Chicago Tonight about his work and the state of superheroes today:
