"A Nude Hope: A Star Wars Burlesque" celebrates 2nd Anniversary

It's hard to believe that one of my favorite burlesque shows is already celebrating it's second anniversary. That would be the case with Gorilla Tango's "A Nude Hope: A Star Wars Burlesque" which is celebrating a stunningly successful 2-year run this July.

I remember attending one of the very first shows, and I was just charmed by the cast and the creative ways they interpreted different elements from the sci-fantasy film.

(Read my original review here.)

Now, if you haven't had a chance to check out any of their wonderfully-nerdy shows, they are offering a special discount for select shows in the coming month. Check this out:

Chicago, IL (July 2013): Gorilla Tango Burlesque's (GTB) extremely popular Star Wars parody, A NUDE HOPE: A STAR WARS BURLESQUE celebrates its second anniversary this July 9! In honor of this momentous anniversary, GTB is offering 20% off all Gorilla Tango Burlesque show tickets during the month of July with the code: happybirthday2013. Code must be redeemed in advance, online at www.gorillatango.com. Good to any GTB show. (Fine print: no cash value and no exchanges once redeemed. Not good retroactively and not redeemable 'at the door.')

The special anniversary code is good for 20% off tickets to the following shows:

Fridays at 9pm - Don't Blink: A Doctor Who Burlesque
Fridays at 10:30pm - Temple of Boobs: An Indiana Jones Burlesque
Saturdays at 9pm - A Nude Hope: A Star Wars Burlesque
Saturdays at 10:30pm - The Empire Brings Sexy Back: A Star Wars Burlesque Sequel
Saturdays at 11:59pm - Holy Bouncing Boobies: A Batman Burlesque

All performances take place at Gorilla Tango Bucktown, 1919 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago IL 60647. Tickets regularly priced $35 ($28 with discount code). 18 and over only.

Performing continuously for the last two years, the burlesque parody A NUDE HOPE has performed to thousands - over 7,600 as a matter of fact - audience members since its opening on July 9, 2011.

A NUDE HOPE: A STAR WARS BURLESQUE revolves around a sexually frustrated farmer, Luke Skywalker, who is longing to rescue the luscious Princess Leia, prisoner of the sadomasochistic villain, Darth Vader. He receives some help along the way from a few malfunctioning droids, a rouge she-hunk named Han Solo and a Wookie companion (who never wears pants!) to rescue her heiney-ness. Of course, along to guide them is the senile but sensual Obi-Wan-Kenobi. Join this motley crew of geek girls as they take you on a burlesque parody journey of bad haircuts, oddly sexy aliens, cheap special effects, and disco groves. Don't make us FORCE you to come!

Featuring a rotating cast of GTB performers including Bottom-Heavy Betty, Dottie Comma, Estrella Von Trapp, Juicy Lucy, Kaylee Williams, Kitty Kaboom, Lucita Bonita, Mai Atari, Miss Kitty Oaks, Mo Less, Peaches N. Cream, Ruby Bourbon, Slightly Spitfire, Sweet Ginger Rose, Tallulah Twist, The Dame of Chance, Whiskey Collins, and Zatanna Zor-Elle.

I haven't had a chance to see the new cast in A Nude Hope, so I'm going to make a point of doing so. I've also been meaning to check out the Indiana Jones-themed show, and the Doctor Who one as well. (I just wish Stella Cheeks was still with the troupe. I miss her C-3PO. Sad panda.)

Be sure to give one of these shows a try! You're gonna have a fun time, and the Force will be with you...always.
