Advice: Is being too tall a turn-off?

I'm tall—maybe 6-feet, 2-inches—but regardless it is noticeable when I fly. So, this can affect who looks at me to date in reality. What do you think is too short for me to pursue because women get caught up in the appearance of a couple, whether they "look right" or not?

I have to admit, Tall Boy, that your question is somewhat perplexing. Particularly how your primary means of finding romantic partners is through air travel, and that this is also somehow not "reality." Had you been Gary Coleman or Andre the Giant, I might better understand your plight. I'm sure there's a freakishly tall cut-off line, but rest assured, my friend, 6-foot-2 is nowhere near it. According to the CDC, the average male adult (over 20) is 69.4 inches. Since the CDC expects us to be math geniuses, I had to convert that to feet with my superhuman brain calculator, aka Google. That's roughly 5-foot-9, or 5 inches shorter than you.

Also baffling is the fact that women love tall men! If you weren't tall, you'd have to resort to other means to showcase your desirability, like obscene wealth, fame, eccentricity or having a personality. But you don't! Because you're tall! To quote a totally true cliche, size does matter.

Height also helps you beat up on short people, according to this pretty hilarious article from the The Sydney Morning Herald. Darwin thought we became bipedal to better handle tools, but I prefer this explanation far more, don't you?

Punching abilities aside, you should (obviously) pursue whomever you're attracted to, regardless of how tall she is or isn't. If she feels you "look wrong" as a couple, then she is clearly not your soul mate. According to Steve Penner, the former owner of a dating service in Boston who talked to SixWise.com on the topic, "It is common for many women to insist that any man they date be ‘at least' four to six inches taller," so you should aim to date women who are 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 if you want to adhere to that rubric. Said range is several inches taller than the average woman, who is a scant 5-foot-4 and barely allowed to ride the adult rides at Great America.

My personal height test is as follows, and also rhymes, for your enjoyment: If you have to take a knee to kiss her, then surely you won't miss her … when you dump her ass for being too short!
