Mint ice cream, rum and fresh mint come together for this adults-only summer float served at Seasons Bar and Lounge (Four Seasons Hotel, 120 E. Delaware Pl. 312-649-2349). Pride Parade

When: Sunday

Where: Halsted Street and Belmont Avenue in Boystown

Get there: No. 77 Belmont bus; Belmont Red Line “L” stop

The basics: Trust us: This ain’t your grandma’s parade. The 39th annual celebration of gay rights is a blur of rainbow flags, colorful costumes and even more colorful characters. Animated crowds line the streets and watch from rooftops and windows along the route, which runs north on Halsted Street from Belmont Avenue to Broadway, south to Diversey Parkway and east to Cannon Drive.

MORE FESTIVALS

– 28th Annual Taste of Chicago. The mother of all food fests kicks off Friday in Grant Park and continues for 10 finger-lickin’ days. More coverage: Plan your Taste attack (page 29) and find out more about this year’s must-see music (metromix.com). Free admission; $8 buys 12 food-and-drink tickets.

– Chicago Pride Fest. Gear up for Sunday’s parade on Saturday with DJs and live music from disco legend Martha Wash (The Weather Girls), ’80s tween star Tiffany and others at Halsted Street and Waveland Avenue.

– Cans Music Fest. Icons of the ’90s music scene headline this fest just outside of Cans Bar and Canteen in Bucktown. Rock out to Vanilla Ice (Friday) and C&C Music Factory (Saturday).

– BAM! Belmont Arts and Music Fest. See The Redwalls, Waco Brothers and Dot Dot Dot (Saturday) and the Smoking Popes, American Music Club and Justin Townes Earle (Sunday), among others, on two stages at this Roscoe Village blowout.

– Peace Fest. Hail to flower power Friday through Sunday in Lincoln Park with more than 20 bands, including Ferdinand Fox and Genral Patton and His Privates. Also: drum circles, activist booths and health food vendors.
