Rockie Fresh wasn’t part of the shoving match that took place Saturday between Rick Ross’s entourage and Young Jeezy’s entourage backstage at the BET 2012 Hip-Hop Awards, but the 21 year-old Chicago rapper, who recently signed with Ross’s label, Maybach Music Group, was in the building when it took place and spoke to Ross afterward.
“I heard about that,” Fresh told me over the phone Wednesday. “Man, I don’t know too much about it. I was there sitting in a different area. I didn’t see anything and when I talked to (Ross), it was about music. Obviously, it couldn’t have been that big of a deal. … I just stay in my place.”
Fresh (real name: Donald Pullen) is expected to release his next mixtape, "Electric Highway," in the near future. He will peform October 20 at Metro.
