For a minute there, I was wondering if there would be any fighting among the cast members of VH1’s upcoming reality show, “Mob Wives Chicago.” There were no signs of tension when I spent an afternoon observing the five women in March and there has been even less drama on Twitter, where the cast members frequently send each other friendly tweets.
And then I watched the four and a half minute trailer for the “Mob Wives” spin-off Sunday.
There is finger pointing, hair pulling, glasses breaking, non-stop cursing and trash talking. Lots of trash talking. You can expect such gems as “She don’t know that I will (expletive) blast her” and “You better (expletive) have eyes on the back of your (expletive) head because I’m coming strong, (expletive)” and the short, but sweet “Kill her, Renee.”
Of course, there are plenty of tears on the show as well. One cast member is going through a custody battle with her felon ex-husband while another is searching for the truth about her father’s death.
Chicagoans will recognize some of the filming locations in the trailer, including the outside of Tavern on Rush in the Gold Coast and the inside of Prasino in Wicker Park. But the most Chicago part about the show? The heavy Chicago accents.
“Mob Wives Chicago” premieres June 10 on Vh1.
