The Christian Slater curse continues.
ABC’s “Mind Games” – which was set and filmed in Chicago – has been canceled after five episodes. The drama starred Slater and Steve Zahn as problem solvers and had only two million viewers during its last episode. It debuted to 3.6 million viewers Feb. 25.
Slater has starred in four TV shows in six years and only one of them (Fox’s “Breaking In”) made it to season two. For the record, I like Slater -- especially in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." It’s just hard to ignore his TV track record.
The "Mind Games" cancelation is not only bad news for Slater, but also Chicago's film community. The good news is NBC's "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago PD" have both been renewed for another season.
