The CTA encourages riders to speak up if they notice unwanted behavior. Here are some tips on how to report suspicious activity.

>> If you are on a bus, notify the bus driver immediately. Always be aware of surroundings. Some details that are helpful to remember when reporting a problem are the bus route, the direction the bus is traveling, the time of the incident and a description of riders involved including attire and any noticeable markings including birthmarks and tattoos. There are security cameras on every CTA bus.

>> If you are on a train, there is a button that will notify the train operator immediately that there is a problem. There is also a customer service assistant at every rail station and cameras throughout the rail system.

Note the direction of the train, time of travel, and stop where the incident occurred. There is also a four-digit number in every rail car and a run number announced on the train. Police can pull up security footage from specific rail cars to track down offenders.
