Thinking about driving for a rideshare company to make some extra dough?
Driver: Danielle Stone, 32, of Logan Square, working since May
What she drives: 2008 Saturn Vue
Why do it: She needed income while she figures out her next career move after getting laid off from her finance job. When she works 40 to 45 hours a week, she said she makes $1,000.
What she likes about it: “I get to dress down. I’m constantly on the go, meeting new people. … It’s really fun, super flexible and money is good. … No complaints. I almost don’t want to go back to corporate because I have so much fun and I’m making money.”
The drawback is: “It’s taken a toll on my body because I drive a lot—an occupational hazard.” She gets weekly massages to ease the pain.
