A 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at gunpoint and robbed of an iPod and money this morning in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
A male she does not know confronted her and forced her into a gangway in the 6300 block of South Paulina Street at 10:15 a.m., said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
After he sexually assaulted her, he robbed her of an iPod and cash, said Zala. She was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where her condition had stabilized, Zala said.
The attacker is described as being black, between the ages of 16 and 18, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8, with short hair and a light complexion. He weighs between 140 and 160 pounds, said Zala.
One person was arrested but it's not clear if he will be charged. Check back for more information.Copyright © 2015, RedEye
