Two boys were wounded in separate shootings this afternoon on the Near West and West Sides, police said.
Someone shot a 15-year-old boy in the leg about 4:35 p.m. in the 1600 block of North Lorel Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition had stabilized, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Sean Flynn.
Separately a 16-year-old boy was shot in the buttocks about 5:20 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Western Avenue, said Zala.
Flynn said this boy was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County where his condition had stablized.
Zala did not have any further details on the attacks immediately.
