A Wilmette man has been indicted on charges related to an undercover police investigation in which he allegedly agreed online to “various sexual acts” at his home with what he thought was an underage girl, authorities said.
Michael R. Rosenberg, 63, of the 400 block of Linden Avenue in Wilmette, was arrested in late March following a two-day Internet investigation by police, authorities said.
On Monday, Rosenberg was indicted at the Skokie courthouse on felony charges of indecent solicitation of a child, solicitation to meet a child and "grooming," which authorities said is a charge related to using a computer to seduce a child.
Rosenberg allegedly went online and agreed to “various sexual acts” with what he thought was an underage girl and offered to buy the girl alcohol, police said. But authorities said Rosenberg was really chatting with an undercover police officer.
When Rosenberg agreed to a meeting at his Wilmette home, he was arrested by police. He is free on $20,000 bond, and has been put on electronic home monitoring.
He is schedule for a May 13 arraignment at the Skokie courthouse at which time he is expected to enter a plea to all charges. Rosenberg could not be reached at home for a comment.Copyright © 2015, RedEye
