Danielle Fishel is striking while the iron is hot.
The actress who played Topanga on ABC’s “Boy Meets World” in the 1990s has reprised her role for the show’s Disney Channel spinoff “Girl Meets World,” which premiered last month to solid ratings. And now Fishel is releasing her memoir, “Normally, This Would be Cause for Concern: Tales of Calamity and Unrelenting Awkwardness,” which she will sign at Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville Sept. 12, the same week the book hits stores.
According to the synopsis, “It's a book for anyone who, like Danielle, has ever tripped and fallen down a flight of stairs in a room full of people, had a romantic moment with their significant other that was ruined by horrendous gas, or taken a sexy Halloween photo without realizing there was a huge chunk of chocolate-covered strawberry in their teeth.”
There’s an increased interest in Fishel these days that we haven’t seen since “Boy Meets World” came to an end over a decade ago. Releasing the book now seems like a smart move.
Hey, there’s a reason Topanga beat out Minkus for valedictorian.
