No injuries were reported at an extra-alarm fire at a South Side laundry Friday morning.
The fire started in the 2700 block of East 79th Street around 11 a.m. and was raised to a 2-11 alarm. The fire had burst through the roof of the building by the time firefighters arrived, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Will Knight.
Photos from the scene taken by the Chicago Fire Department showed a snorkel being used to pour water on the small building, and at least three other hoses trained on the building.
The fire was under control by 11:30 a.m., and declared out at 11:45 a.m., officials said. No one was injured or taken to a hospital for treatment, Knight said.
