Police: Fleeing burglars bail from crashed vehicle

Police are searching for two suspects who fled a crashed vehicle after burglarizing a garage on the the Far Northwest Side, police said.

About 2:30 a.m., officers spotted two people loading items from a garage into a vehicle in the 7500 block of West Myrtle Avenue, police said.

When they saw the officers, the suspects rushed into the vehicle and fled onto the Kennedy Expressway as police officers followed, police said.

The driver of the vehicle exited the expressway and lost control of the vehicle in the 6700 block of West Ardmore Avenue, crashing into the lawn of a home.  The suspects fled the scene on foot, police said.

Police officers recovered the vehicle and items from the garage.  No suspects were in custody early this morning.
