Police chased down and arrested three people fleeing the scene of an armed robbery in Deerfield on Monday evening, including one person who evaded capture for more than an hour and a half, authorities said.
About 7:40 p.m., someone alerted police in the northern suburb that an armed robbery was taking place in a cell phone store in the 100 block of South Waukegan Road, Deerfield police said in a release.
Police said a nearby officer spotted a vehicle fleeing the scene and followed it to the area of Half Day Road and Interstate 94 in Bannockburn, more than four miles away.
Three occupants took off on foot from there, police said.
Police took two of the three into custody "within minutes," according to the release. They found the third suspect hiding in a nearby office building about 90 minutes later, the release said.
Authorities said further information would be released Tuesday.
