Stephen Sondheim is the winner of the 2011 Tribune Literary Prize, an award given specifically for his writing, as distinct from his musical compositions.
Sondheim, 81, will appear in person to collect his award. We'll be in conversation on Sunday Nov. 6 at the Symphony Center, in an event that is part of the Chicago Humanities Festival.
Read Mark Caro's story for the Tribune here. And read my review of "Sondheim on Sondheim" on Broadway, as well as coverage of the Sondheim event at the Harris Theater and the birthday party at Ravinia in 2010.Copyright © 2015, RedEye
