• A Chicago police officer working an investigation in East Hazel Crest fatally shot a driver who sped toward him, authorities said. Chicago detectives were conducting surveillance around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday when they approached two people who had entered a vehicle in the 1900 block of West 171st Street in the south suburb, according to a Chicago police statement. • Chicago police officers responding to a burglary call surrounded a home in the Roscoe Village neighborhood and arrested three suspects as they left an apartment, police said. The plainsclothes officers from got the call around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday and surrounded the home in the 3500 block of North Oakley Avenue, according to a police statement. Three men started to leave the apartment, but saw the officers and darted back inside. Read more
• A Wheaton North High School teacher had a sexual relationship with a student after coaching her to a state championship in speech, DuPage County prosecutors charged Wednesday.
