Brian Urlacher to appear in Goodman Theatre's 'A Christmas Carol'

Brian Urlacher is ready to tackle a holiday classic. The Fox Sports 1 analyst and retired Bear will make a one-night-only cameo Dec. 27 in the Goodman Theatre’s 36th anniversary production of “A Christmas Carol.” Urlacher will appear alongside 17-year-old Lemont resident Kenneth Schumacher from Make-A Wish Illinois.

The sports star cameo is becoming a tradition during Goodman’s “A Christmas Carol,” which revolves around Christmas hater Ebenezer Scrooge and the four ghosts who give him the scared straight treatment on Christmas Eve. Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, White Sox manager Robin Ventura and Blackhawks legend Bobby Hull have all taken part in the Charles Dickens classic on behalf of Make-A-Wish Illinois.

If Urlacher’s appearance is anything like the Pippen one I saw last year, the eight-time Pro Bowler will play a townsperson who remains mostly quiet in the background, except when singing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” with the rest of the cast once Scrooge has learned the error of his ways (spoiler alert?). Expect to see Urlacher on stage in Victorian garb, top hat included.

The "Christmas Carol" role won't be Urlacher's first foray into acting. He played himself on HBO's "Entourage" and in commercials for Xfinity, Vitamin Water and Old Spice.

"A Christmas Carol" is running now until Dec. 28.

Let's talk about this new Justin Bieber song 'What Do You Mean?'

Don't get me wrong, Justin Bieber is still really embarrassing. This is a guy who, last year at a charity gala benefiting AIDS...
