Blackhawks film commercial with 'Divergent' actor

Christian Madsen went from watching the Blackhawks play at the United Center while in Chicago filming the futuristic sci-fi flick “Divergent” over the summer to appearing in a commercial with them for BMO Harris Bank.

Madsen -- son of Michael Madsen (“Reservoir Dogs”) and nephew of Virginia Madsen (“Sideways”) -- filmed the commercial Monday with the Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane, Corey Crawford, Bryan Bickell, Brandon Saad and Andrew Shaw at Eckhart Park in the Noble Square neighborhood.

"#CoreyCrawford greatest (goalie) living ... really down to earth guy," Madsen tweeted afterward.

In addition to the Blackhawks commercial, the Chicago-based BMO Harris also filmed an ad last week in Deerfield with the Bulls’ Joakim Noah and Jimmy Butler.

“The two spots support our sponsorship of the teams and promote our BMO Harris Bulls and Blackhawks Debit MasterCards,” said BMO Harris spokesman Jim Kappel by email. “The basic premise of the spots is: when you carry a BMO Harris Bulls or Blackhawks Debit MasterCard, the team is always with you.

“We expect to launch both spots during broadcasts of the games later this fall.”
