Robbers steal $2,000 from Aurora auto repair shop

A man and woman took $2,000 during a robbery at an auto repair shop in unincorporated Aurora Township today, forcing two employees into a bathroom at gunpoint.

Kane County sheriff’s police said the incident took place at about 11:50 a.m. at the Technically Automotive repair business.

The employees told police that the robbers, both armed with rifles, demanded jewelry. There is a jewelry business in the building, police said.

One of the victims gave the robbers $2,000 in cash, police said. The employees were bound and forced into a bathroom and told to stay 30 minutes before leaving. Neither employee was hurt, police said.
