Zeljko Djukic, the artistic leader of TUTA Theatre Chicago, is hanging up his decade-long position as artistic director, effective Sept. 1.
His co-founder and longtime collaborator, Jacqueline Stone, is taking over the role of artistic director of the company, a much-admired ensemble group on the avant-garde end of Chicago theater. Djukic made the announcement Monday.
Djukic said he will be teaching for the coming year at the Drama Arts School in Belgrade, Serbia. Once he returns to the U.S., he'll continue to be involved with the company as a director and adviser.
