Transform your space for less with this new online consignment furniture shop

Those looking to revamp their Chicago homes are using a new online resource to shop for and purchase new, like-new and gently used furniture.

MarketSquare is an online furniture consignment store in the city’s Avondale neighborhood whose mission is to ease the furniture resale process for buyers and sellers.

The company’s unique buying solution offers customers quality, convenience and transparency. With a website full of available items, buyers can choose to either pick up items at the MarketSquare warehouse or have them delivered.  White-glove delivery is free on orders over $299.

For those who wish to see the furniture — or range of furniture — in person, MarketSquare is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Sunday.

“We recognize that people also see value in the offline experience,” founder Bryon Finke says. “That’s why we encourage our customers to come to the warehouse and check out the pieces before they make the transaction.”

The company’s inventory features pieces for anywhere in the home, from the bedroom to living room to outdoor space, and is not limited to a certain aesthetic.

“While we don’t stick to a certain look, we maintain our inventory at the high-middle to high-end quality,” Finke says.

Recently, the company has started to provide cleaning services for furniture accepted for consignment. When an item arrives, MarketSquare’s team vacuums, spot-cleans as needed and steams the entire piece.

This added process eliminates the risk of purchasing damaged or dirty furniture, Finke says.

Now, customers can achieve an upscale look without paying an upscale price. The company is a great asset for newcomers or those moving who do not want to skimp on quality when turning their new place into a home.

MarketSquare’s most frequently sold category is sofas.

“Buyers tend to see the most value in a sofa because they are difficult to transport and generally fill an immediate need.  MarketSquare’s delivery service is extremely helpful in that regard,” Finke says.

For Chicago residents, whose choices are generally limited to overpriced luxury retail items and run-down, less-than-chic options found on the internet, MarketSquare’s furniture is a great alternative. The inventory combines style and elegance in the essentials, like this tufted sofa

In addition to staples like sofas and beds, the company’s offerings include unique pieces like a mirrored vanity table that add charm and individuality to any living space.

“If you are looking for the modern look, we are a great place. If you’re looking for an interesting vintage piece, we are also a great place,” says Finke. “We’re not just a corner retail store. We are an entire warehouse that caters to all styles.”

MarketSquare isn’t just for buyers who wish to do a complete reinvention of their space, however. With a full inventory of small home décor items, MarketSquare is also a destination for a simple style refresh.

Little details can go a long way, and MarketSquare has subtle add-ins like a unique light fixture or piece of art that can bring character to a home, like this unique arch lamp for a modernized look.

“Sometimes just having small change is good, too,” Finke says. “And we make change easy. And cheaper.”
