1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon each: baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon

1/4 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 large, ripe banana, mashed

1 egg

1/4 cup plain yogurt

1 cup bran cereal

1. In a small saucepan (or glass bowl for microwave oven) melt chocolate bits. Stir as they soften. Cool. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

2. Stir together the flour, salt, baking powder, soda and cinnamon. In another bowl (to hold the entire mixture), cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy. Beat in the mashed bananas and egg, the yogurt, bran and cooled chocolate. Mix well. Stir in dry ingredients, blending well.

3. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan and bake 25 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool in pan.
