The citizens advisory council committee that is working to recommend new attendance boundaries for Elgin School District U46 schools has scheduled an additional meeting for Tuesday, May 26 after canceling its meeting this week.
Co-Chair Roger Wallace said the canceled May 19 meeting has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. May 26 in Room 239 in the district’s Educational Services Center, at 355 E. Chicago St., Elgin.
Wallace said this week’s meeting was scheduled because not enough new information was available yet about possible boundary-change scenarios.
Most recently, the committee has been drafting recommendations about attendance boundary shifts designed to relieve possible overcrowding at 13 elementary schools.
